The second annual North Eastern Sydney Business Awards were held on Friday 13th September at Curzon Hall, Ryde and the Eastwood Hotel’s Kirk Greenland won the award for Young Business Executive (aged 18-35 years). The event attended by over 100 business and community leaders recognises and celebrates business excellence in the North Eastern Sydney Region.

The Young Business Executive Award recognises an inspirational young professional aged between 18-35 years who has built a successful career with an organisation. Kirk, now in his 5th year with Redcape Hotel Group having spent the last 18 months as the Venue Manager at the Eastwood Hotel was recognised on Friday night for his excellence in business amongst a field of outstanding finalists.

“It is truly a humbling award to receive,” said Kirk of the experience. “To be recognised for such an honourable award is amazing but then to take out the award against a field of remarkable young business leaders is really indescribable.”

Having managed extensive renovation works whilst also seeing increased competition to the area, Kirk noted ”the recognition is that much more special given the challenges we have faced as a business in the 12 months past.”

Taking in North Sydney, St Leonards, Chatswood, Castlecrag, Northbridge, Turramurra, Lane Cove, Ryde, West Ryde, Eastwood, Gladesville, Macquarie Park, Epping, Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Galston, Dural, Mona Vale, Narrabeen, Avalon, Warringah and Manly, the North Eastern Sydney Business Awards celebrates business excellence across a large catchment of this expansive region.

Going on to represent the North Eastern region at the NSW Business Chamber State Gala Dinner in November this year, Kirk will go up against winners from the other eight NSW regions.

Recognising business submissions across all industries, the award is a remarkable achievement for Kirk who highlighted the recognition as ‘a credit to the industry’ for which he has so passionately built his career.

“I see this award as a real testament to the group training, development and strong mentoring culture, of which, I have had the benefit of experiencing first hand from within the Redcape business,” Kirk said.

The NSW Business Chamber State Awards will be held in November this year and we wish Kirk the best of luck.
